Is a Premed Degree Required for Acceptance Into UMHS? https://hubs.la/Q01hBpWd0 A premed or health-related degree is not required for admission into our medical school. Instead, our admissions policies require completion of high school, or a GED certificate, along with three years of a college education. This must include at least 90 credit hours at an accredited undergraduate university or liberal arts school. Prerequisite courses required for application include: One year of general or inorganic chemistry. One year of organic chemistry. One year of general biology. One semester of physics. One year of English. One semester of college calculus or statistics. Additional upper-level science courses are recommended but not required.
